Purpose
The permanent magnet drum separator is suitable for wet separation of fine particles from highly magnetic minerals. The specific susceptibility of the selected mineral is generally no less than 3,000×10-6cm³/g. Such minerals include magnetite, pyrrhotite, or hematite, limonite, siderite and the like which have undergone the magnetizing roast.
Working principle and characteristics
The ore pulp is fed into the trough of the magnetic separator through the feeding box and then delivered into the feeding area in a loose state. When passing through the magnetic field, the ore particles with a low magnetism are adsorbed onto the surface of the cylinder under the action of magnetic field force. During the rotation of the cylinder, the magnetic ore particles are being turned in a chain as the magnetism of the magnetic system is alternately arranged in a circumferential direction, and a part of the gangue ore particles included in the magnetic minerals are washed out. As the magnetic ore particles rotate with the cylinder, they are brought out of the magnetic field, and washed into the concentrate trough. Weak magnetic and non-magnetic minerals (gangue) are thrown off and discharged from the tailings trough under the action of the pulp flow in the trough, thus completing the separation process.
